I am especially excited about this project release. I have always been a huge fan of motorsports and riding. Also this is one of the few times I get to spend time working on just a passion project. I grew up riding dirt bikes and quads, but I've never used my skills in film yet to create something with them as the subject.
A couple weeks ago my buddy Tyler Brown hit me up saying I should come out to the track and shoot some stuff. This was my first time shooting moto stuff but I have always had an eye for how it should be done. After I got home and reviewed the footage I was pumped. We scheduled the next Saturday to hit up another track to finish the video.
After hours of searching for just the right track I settled on X Ambassadors Jungle remix. It didn't quite jump out at me perfectly but I think it works pretty well for the subject matter and how I pictured the flow. As you see from most of my work the music has to be very dynamic with pumping parts and chill breaks.
For most of these shots I used a Zeiss 18mm ZF2 and a Canon L 70-200mm. Shot on a Sony A7s at 60p.
I wanted to either be really close to the action and wide, or far and tight so I could make everything look as big as possible. I first had a clean looking color grade with vibrant skies, but then on a whim I decided to create a mad max vibe and loved it.
Hope you guys dig the video as much as I did!
